Ella Finer

Ella Finer sings After Hours by The Velvet
Underground.

‘[The song] kind of
celebrates the enclosed and
dark nature of the space
instead of highlighting it as a
ghostly or sad place, which it
could equally be described
as. But I thought it was more
celebratory - a place where you
can shut out the light and have
your own private time to
contemplate whatever in your
life, or love and everything [...]
Then we went upstairs and
it presented me with a
different angle [...] But then
the fact that [the song] is
about inside and outside -
looking out of the windows
upstairs [...] seeing all the
people and the grey buildings -
it so relates to Glasgow.'
(Ella Finer, October 2007)
